From the recording 7. Down to the Shore Tonight

I wrote this song when I was on a path of seeking self-enlightenment. Song of my listeners call these kinds of songs "mystical rock".

DOWN TO THE SHORE TONIGHT

Are you going down to the shore tonight?
Hear the ocean roar, and the seagulls scream in flight.
And the coming time, can you rest assured?
Be all that’s known, be though no one’s heard.

Hundreds, have fled to caves, or wandering, deserted, dazed.
Seeking, the sought one held, above their heads,
Who guides them. Who calls them. Who cares.

Are you going to follow; have your mind controlled?
Or use your heart to join my lonely soul?
What is after life, I cannot say.
Each one of us must either go, or stay.

We all, must choose our path,
In the face of, all cosmic wrath.
Is life a prison? Has escape arisen?
Who can know? But I have to go.
Will you be my lover? My holy other?

Now my special one is on her way,
Leaving night, bringing forth the day.
And those magic feelings, do they hide illusion?
Are we nearer truth in our high seclusion?

Injured, but hurting less, Thirsting, but feeling blest.
Holding arms out to her now, but where and how?
Her answer:

Who can pass here,
without Love?
