SUN BENEATH THE GROUND

Our daydreams are slipping by, and the night must follow soon.
Some drops of life lie frozen,
in the shadows of the moon.
The time of twilight’s drawing closer, closer to our doom.

And when it’s us you’ve finally found, I fear the sun will be,
beneath the ground.

Time is of the essence, you need a love to tend,
Or in your time you’ll never know,
just why it had to end.
And when you wake you will have found,
The sun’s beneath the ground,
beneath the ground.

All life is made of hopes and dreams.
These are our magic hours.
But time, with creeping crystals, will replace our noontime flowers.
What if hope has lost its mystic power,
to keep all going when all’s gone sour?

Then when it’s us we’ve finally found, I fear the sun will be,
beneath the ground.

I need you here with me right now, my day dreams need not end.
With our bodies right beside our souls, there’ll be love to defend.
Let’s fight for time that we have left, that’s left for us to spend.

Or when it’s us we’ve finally found,
The sun will be
beneath
the ground.
